Spring Sports

HHS Athlete Parents:

As we begin to play indoor sports at Hilmar High School, there will be some very specific guideline that all Merced schools will follow. These guidelines will enable our student athletes the ability to participate in basketball, volleyball and wrestling.

The following are the guidelines that must be followed in Hilmar and as we visit other schools:

• Sorry, but neither the general public nor the student body will be allowed to attend.
• Per DPH, only immediate family members may attend indoor sporting events.
• Venue spectator capacities are established by CDPH guidelines within the CA colored tiers.
• At Home events: 4 family members per athlete may attend.  
• At Away events: two family members per athlete may attend. (This may change based on available seating) 
• Family members: please do your best to arrive at the same time and sit together. 
• Family members will be asked to depart after their athletes’ game (Frosh, JV etc.)
• In the rare circumstance that you have an athlete at two levels, you may remain. 
• We will use a roster-list of team members and/or tickets for invitation only.
• Masks, social distancing and family grouping will be required in the bleachers.  Please sit in designated areas only.
• Passes, Staff ID’s etc., will not be honored for entry.
• Concessions may not be available at all sites.  Please do not bring food or drinks into the gyms.  This applies at Hilmar and away venues (water is okay in Hilmar).

We do realize that this is not the ideal situation, but please remember that we are doing this so our student athletes may participate in athletic seasons that at one time did not seem possible.
