Resilience & Responsibility on the Path to College Athletics: Recruiting 101 Success!

As we continue to empower all of our Yellowjackets to be college and career ready, we want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who joined us in the Learning Center on August 31 for Recruiting 101! We had a great turnout for our first NCAA focused parent information night, and the fantastic questions from both students and parents made the night a success. It was inspiring to see so many families dive into the college sports process—from setting up NCAA accounts and building highlight reels to reaching out directly to coaches. Thanks for bringing such wonderful questions and helping our student-athletes take another big step toward their future goals!

Building Relationships The Jacket Way: Clubs Kick Off for the New Year!

Following last week's successful Club Rush, our student organizations have officially kicked off the school year! Many clubs have already hosted their first meetings and elected new officer teams. Joining a club aligns directly with The Jacket Way by giving our students a dedicated space to build relationships with peers who share their passions, practice responsibility through leadership roles, and demonstrate respect as they collaborate on meaningful service and campus activities. We are proud to see so many Yellowjackets getting involved and leading the way!

Building Relationships & School Spirit The Jacket Way

The Jacket Way challenges our young Yellowjackets to be respectful, resilient, responsible, and active relationship-builders. Yesterday, our freshmen gathered in the Sparks Gym for an exciting Jacket Time! Led by our student leadership, Link Crew, and cheerleaders, our newest Yellowjackets learned the Hilmar chant, unpacked expectations for tonight's student section, and geared up with their very own green and gold spirit shirt.
This energetic session put building relationships front and center as upperclassmen officially welcomed the freshmen, set the standard for respectful sportsmanship in the stands, and sparked responsibility as students step up to represent our school culture. We can't wait to see a sea of green and gold all across campus today—and every Friday!

Showing Responsibility The Jacket Way: Exceeding Our Attendance Goal!

At Hilmar High, showing up every day ready to learn is a key part of practicing responsibility through The Jacket Way. We set a schoolwide target of a 96% Average Daily Attendance (ADA) rate, and thanks to the commitment of our students and families, our overall campus average reached an impressive 96.91% between August 13 and September 4! Leading the pack, our 9th graders achieved a stellar 97.43%, followed closely by our 12th graders at 97.29% and 11th graders at 97.16%. Our 10th graders were right on the mark at 95.77%.
To help us maintain these strong numbers, please try to schedule non-urgent appointments after school or during school breaks whenever possible. In high school, missing even a single class period is like missing a whole day of elementary school since students move through individual subjects daily! If your Yellowjacket must miss school, please communicate directly with the main office and remember to bring a doctor's note after medical appointments so we can clear the absence. Thank you for prioritizing daily attendance and helping our school community start the year off strong!

Show Your School Pride: Volunteer & Share Your Hilmar Story!

We need your help to win $1,000,000 for Hilmar High through the T-Mobile Friday Night Lights 5G competition!

  • Friday Lunch Volunteers: We are looking for 1–2 parent volunteers each Friday through October (excluding Homecoming) from 11:40 AM to 12:22 PM to capture our students' green and gold spirit in front of our weekly FNL backdrop! Student lunch runs from 11:47 AM to 12:22 PM, so arriving at 11:40 AM gives you time to check in at the main office and grab the camera—we provide all the equipment, so we just need your time and energy. You'll get a front-row seat to see the fantastic backdrop masterpieces our students create each week! The photo station will be set up outside in the office patio area. Volunteers must sign up in advance by calling the main office.

  • Tonight’s FNL Pop-Up Station: Heading to tonight's game? Look for our pop-up station to share your memories and love for Hilmar High! Whether you are brand new to the community or your family has been Yellowjackets for generations, we want to hear what makes Hilmar so special to you as we put together our contest video.
