October at Hilmar: Celebrating Our Yellowjacket Traditions!

October is here, and we have so much to look forward to at Hilmar High School! From Homecoming next Friday to our 50th Annual Powderpuff on October 30 and Día de los Muertos on October 29, we are excited to celebrating all of our wonderful traditions that make our school and community special. We look forward to celebrating with our Hilmar High School families and making more great memories together. Once a Yellowjacket, always a Yellowjacket!

We Dipped, Now Let’s Climb!

Our attendance remains strong, with a schoolwide Average Daily Attendance of 96.16%, just above our 96% goal. Our 9th and 11th graders are leading the way at 96.82% and 96.48%, while 10th grade is at 95.32%. Our seniors have now dipped just below our goal at 95.89%, the first time this year they have fallen below 96%. Every day and every period counts, and we want to encourage all of our Yellowjackets, especially our seniors, to make being at school a priority.

College and Career Wear Thursdays! Rep Your Future Every Thursday!

Show your future some love by wearing your favorite college shirt every Thursday! Let us celebrate the many opportunities ahead and encourage our Yellowjackets to dream big and plan for their future.

Thank you, Hilmar

This week, we learned that we would not be advancing to the next round of the T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights competition. While we are certainly disappointed, we are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support and encouragement from our community throughout this process.
We gave it our all, and we could not be prouder of our small town and the people who make it so special. Thank you for every post, like, share, and word of encouragement as we rallied behind our young Yellowjackets!
Our love for green and gold, our traditions, and our community runs deep. We will continue to celebrate and share the many wonderful things that make Hilmar such a special place to call home.
Be sure to visit our Instagram page to see our official thank-you message. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for showing up for Hilmar High School and reminding us what it means to be part of this amazing community!

  • Friday Lunch Volunteers: We are looking for 1–2 parent volunteers each Friday through October (excluding Homecoming) from 11:40 AM to 12:22 PM to capture our students' green and gold spirit in front of our weekly backdrop! Student lunch runs from 11:47 AM to 12:22 PM, so arriving at 11:40 AM gives you time to check in at the main office and grab the camera—we provide all the equipment, so we just need your time and energy. You'll get a front-row seat to see the fantastic backdrop masterpieces our students create each week! The photo station will be set up outside in the office patio area. Volunteers must sign up in advance by calling the main office.
