Hilmar High School Happenings

We are excited to celebrate Homecoming with our amazing Hilmar community! As we enjoy the parade, football games, and all the Homecoming fun, we need everyone’s help to keep our students, families, and community members safe.

Thank you for helping us make this Hilmar Holiday fun, memorable, and safe for everyone! It takes our entire Hilmar community to make Homecoming special, and we appreciate everyone doing their part to keep our Yellowjackets safe. Let’s show our green and gold pride!

Go Yellowjackets!

Our attendance is holding steady at 96.10%, and we are making progress! At the end of the first quarter last year, our attendance rate was 95.61%, so we are currently up nearly half a percentage point. Thank you for helping your students make attending school every day a priority. Every day and every period counts, and consistent attendance makes a difference in student learning and success. Let’s keep working together to reach our 96% attendance goal and help our Yellowjackets finish the quarter strong!

October is a great time for our Yellowjackets and their families to explore options and plan for life after high school! We had a great turnout of parents and students at our first Dual Enrollment Parent Meeting. Thank you to everyone who came to learn about th e opportunities available at Hilmar High School!

This week, students who signed up will take the PSAT and SAT, assessments that help students prepare for college and may support college admissions and scholarship opportunities. Other students will take the Seal of Biliteracy assessment, which recognizes proficiency in English and another language.

Next week, join us for our Financial Aid Workshop Night to learn more about paying for college. If college is in your Young Yellowjacket’s future, this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss!

Our Yellowjackets joined students from across Merced County for the 28th Annual Career Industry Day on October 15 at the Merced County Fairgrounds. Hosted by MCOE, the event gave students the opportunity to explore career pathways, connect with industry professionals, and build skills for their future.

We are continuing that focus here at Hilmar High School with our own Career Day on October 27 during Jacket Time (10:40–11:18 AM)! We want our students to explore the many possibilities available to them after high school. If you or someone you know is a local professional willing to share your career and experiences with our students, we would love to hear from you! Please reach out and let us know. It takes our entire Hilmar community to help our Young Yellowjackets envision a future full of possibilities!
