FFA State Officers Visit Hilmar High School!

We were excited to welcome California FFA State Officers to Hilmar High School on Thursday! During their visit, officers spent time with our agriculture students, sharing their personal FFA experiences, answering questions, and encouraging students to get involved and take advantage of the leadership, personal growth, and career opportunities available through agricultural education.

Big Steps Toward Bright Futures: Senior College Applications

This week, our counseling team led college application workshops for students applying to California State Universities (CSUs) and Modesto Junior College (MJC). This is an exciting time for our seniors as they take the next steps toward the futures they have been working and planning for. We are proud of them as they explore their options, take on new opportunities, and begin turning their postsecondary goals into reality.

Every Day Counts: Attendance Update

Cold and flu season continues to impact attendance at Hilmar High School, and we are seeing a slight dip in our numbers. As of November 5, our overall Average Daily Attendance (ADA) is 95.18%, down slightly from last week’s 95.40%.
Here is a look at attendance by grade level:
  • 9th Grade: 95.31%
  • 10th Grade: 94.68%
  • 11th Grade: 95.76%
  • 12th Grade: 94.90%
We understand that this time of year brings more illness, and we want students who are sick to stay home, rest, and recover. At the same time, when students are feeling well enough to attend, being at school every day makes a difference. Missed instruction adds up quickly and can make it harder for students to keep up with assignments, participate in classroom learning, and stay on track.
Our attendance goal is 96%, and we are continuing to work toward that mark. Thank you for partnering with us to make attendance a priority while also taking care of one another during cold and flu season. Every day of learning matters, and every day counts!

As we take time to honor and celebrate our veterans, remember that there is no school on Wednesday! Thank you to all who have served!
