The Hilmar High School and Middle school Portuguese Programs invite you to Portuguese Immigrant Night!
Join us for an evening celebrating Portuguese culture on Thursday, March 27th from 6:30 to 7:30 PM at the Hilmar High School STROM Gym.
Folklore dance performances by the Hilmar High School and Middle School Portuguese Classes, original performance by the middle school Portuguese students, Portuguese music provided by the HHS and HMS Band Students, and traditional festa dancing.
Refreshments including delicious Portuguese sweets following the entertainment!
Attire
Sra Cunha: Students are wearing all black clothing with shoes, other than black.
Sra Machado: All students are expected to wear white shirts and shoes that will not fall off while dancing (no crocs, birkenstocks, sandals with no straps etc). Boys will wear either black pants or dark jeans and girls will wear something that they can put a provided folklore skirt over (shorts/ leggings).
Desserts/ Refreshments: We have a tradition of enjoying desserts/refreshments after so if you can, please plan on bringing something. We do like Portuguese desserts but other desserts such as cookies will gladly be appreciated. Thank you to Crystal Casey for taking on the task of organizing the tables that night!
