Hilmar High School Happenings

August 21, 2026

A large group of Hilmar High School staff, many wearing green and yellow, pose for a photo on bleachers.
What an incredible start to the 2026–2027 school year! Yellowjacket spirit is higher than ever after celebrating our First Friday and cheering on our student-athletes during fall sports scrimmages. We are excited to welcome all of our families to campus this Monday evening for Back to School Night! Class of 2027 parents should plan to start their evening early in the cafeteria at 5:00 PM for an essential Senior Parent Meeting, where counselors will share critical dates, deadlines, and graduation milestones to set your student up for a successful year.

Ms. Kelly

Back to School Night is on Monday August, 24th

We are excited to welcome you to our upcoming Back to School Night! Please join us in the Strom Gym at 5:30 PM for a brief introduction and informational meeting. Following the informational meeting, families will have the opportunity to visit their child’s teachers.
We understand that many families have students in multiple grade levels and classes at Hilmar High School, so we are offering a flexible format for the evening. There will be no formal bell schedule—you are welcome to visit classrooms in any order that best suits your needs. All classroom visits will conclude by 7:00 PM.
We look forward to seeing you and partnering together for a successful school year!
Stop by our featured pop-up tables during Back to School Night to connect with campus resources, preview student organizations, and help us win $1 Million!

  • Counseling Table: Academic guidance and student support services.
  • Club Rush Preview: Early look at campus clubs ahead of Tuesday's Club Rush.

  • Interdistrict Contracts: Connect with Ms. Couto inside the gym when you arrive if you have not met with her already or by the office after our introduction

Attendance Celebration

Yellowjacket Attendance Update!
We are celebrating a 97% average daily attendance during our first full week of school which is above our 96% goal!
Now, let's keep it there! Every day and every class period counts. Being at school consistently helps students stay on track and avoid falling behind.
When possible, please schedule appointments at times that have the smallest impact on your student’s classes.
Let’s keep our Yellowjackets showing up and learning!

Personal Device Reminder

For the safety, security, and focus of all students, personal devices—including laptops, tablets, and personal hotspots—are not to be used for instruction during class time. Personal hotspots can bypass our school’s internet safety filters and protections.
During last week’s Expectation Station rotations, students were reminded of this expectation and that it is part of our Smart Device Enforcement Policy. Every student has access to a school-issued Chromebook with the appropriate safety measures in place.
If you or your Yellowjacket feels their school-issued Chromebook is not working properly, please have them see Ms. Taylor for assistance. We want to make sure every student has a working device so they can stay focused and engaged in learning.
Please see the attached Smart Device Policy for additional information.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our Yellowjackets safe, focused, and ready to learn!
